The Anatomy of Planting a Miskito Church (Zero to One)
In church planting terminology, we speak of “zero to one.” This refers to the time and effort it takes to start a church from zero and grow it to be a self sustaining congregation. This past year over 16 Miskito churches were planted in Honduras and Nicaragua.
One church is a great example of “zero to one.” The last week of August of 2007, a experienced medical team from Burnt Hickory Baptist Church, Kennesaw, GA visited the village a Santa Isabel. |

Air Strip in Raiti, Upper Coco River
The 30 villages Miskito above the rapids on the upper Coco River are cut off from the rest of the world. In order to reach these villages in takes 2 days of dangerous and expensive river travel. An Adventist missionary, Clint Hanley has a plane that can fly into this region. The only problem is there are no functioning air strips in this region. Clint is investigating the possibility of revitalizing the abandoned air strips in Raiti. Pray for Clint's flyover this week and then a visual later in January. Pray that the strip can be repaired and opened for flights. Pray that this will allow us to share the Gospel with the people of the upper Coco River.
